2009 Fall Kickoff Tournament Division Winners School Bridge LEAGUE hosts six tournaments per year for Beginner, Intermediate , Advanced and Mini Bridge players throughout the US and Canada. CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of the Fall Kick Off Tournament!
The top three pairs in the Advanced Category, those with more than one year of experience playing bridge are:
First Place: KATTREN WILFRED AND IVY XIONG from MARC GARNEAU SCHOOL in Toronto, Canada. Coached by Joel Shapiro.
Second Place: PAUL BORANIAN AND ALEX TORRESS from THOMAS JEFFERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL in Teaneck, NJ. Coached by Karen Hughes
Third Place: DAVID PINTO AND JASON HUGHES from THOMAS JEFFERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL in Teaneck, NJ. Coached by Karen Hughes
** There are no winners to report for Beginner, Intermediate or Mini Bridge Categories Each of the above winners will receive a School Bridge LEAGUE trophy! Additionally the first place pair in each category will also receive an autographed copy of “Small Steps” written by Louis Sachar who is the bestselling author of the award-winning novel “Holes”. School Bridge LEAGUE is excited to announce that once again for this season we will be awarding the top pair, with the highest overall cumulative score, for three out of six tournaments, a trip to the 2010 end of year LEAGUE National Awards & Recognition event. Please note that the pair MUST also participate in a service event, counted as a LEAGUE Wildcard, for the 2009-2010 school year in addition to the ranking requirements in the School Bridge LEAGUE Tournaments.
